Scrubbing

In affiliate marketing, not every lead results in a commission paid to an affiliate.

An affiliate may be promoting a product poorly, misrepresenting the items or simply communicating poorly. In both cases, these practices can harm the reputation of the company. When leads (Conversions & Sales) from an affiliate are not performing well, the company may not record these conversions as legitimate and will not be remunerated for it
This process of removing non-legitimate leads captured by a web site is called scrubbing.

For example, some visitors may enter names such as “John Doe” or a phone number as “123-456-7890” or an email address as “asd@fgh.com. The lead scrubbing process involves reviewing the list of leads generated and removing any worthless leads that are associated with bad information.
